NUC Speaks On Why It Published List Of Illegal Universities

The National Universities Commission, NUC has on
Friday written off recent media reports that the list
of illegal universities in Nigeria was published
because of the new administration in the country.

Addressing pressmen, the NUC Director of
Information, Malam Ibrahim Yakasai, said the list of
illegal universities had always been published in the
commission’s bulletin for the past five years.

According to him, there are no illegal universities
operating in the country at present, adding that the
frequent publishing of the list is strategic.

“The list has been in        existence for the     past
three to five years; the report that NUC
suddenly woke up because of `change’ is
   mischievous.

There in no illegal university in Nigeria
now; no illegal university in Nigeria has
produced a graduate.

We have a committee on illegal
universities and they work in partnership
with law enforcement agencies – the
police, ICPC, EFCC, among others.

We publish the list of illegal universities
repeatedly in order to stigmatise them and
make sure nobody uses them again; in the
last one year, there has been no case of
illegal university,’’ he said. (NAN)

The Untold Story Of The Lady Who Vomited Blood At Ikorodu (Viewers Discretion)

Tongues are wagging in Lagos State especially Ikorodu, over how a young lady who was said to have been so expressive of her womanhood and was full of life falls victim of ritualists.
The incident that happened on Thursday 13th of August, 2015 according to reports has it that the lady was said to be one of the happening babes in town, although she likes doing her things in her own little way.
Arewa (pseudonym) in her twenties had allegedly gone out in answer to a call from an Aristo where we learnt she finally met her waterloo.
An eye witness/road side trader who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed thus:
“ I was attending to one of my customers when a middle aged man pack his car in front of me at Benson Bus/stop, Ikorodu to drop a lady and before I could blink my eyes; the man had jumped in the car and zoomed off.
I noticed the lady he drops look pale and weak but I thought maybe she’s not feeling too well.
I was still trying to open up conversation with her when she started vomiting blood. I alerted people that are around and in a twinkle of an eye, over hundreds of people gathered around her.
At the initial stage, we thought it was a medical condition and we were trying to rush her to the hospital when one Alfa that also witnessed the incident after doing some prayers for the lady hinted us that the lady has been used by ritualists and her chance of surviving is very slim.” The road side trader squealed.
She further said: “We were still trying to do all we could to save her from dying when a particular woman recognized the lady and quickly rushed to her parent’s house to inform them about their daughter’s plight.
About 20 minutes later, the lady’s parents came to Benson Bus-stop and use a car to whisk their daughter away.
What I truly don’t know is if the lady survives the incident or not cos I couldn’t leave my market to follow them.” The trader concluded
However, people around Benson Bus-Stop also unanimously agree that the lady’s unadulterated fun seeking lifestyle helped fan the flames that caused her recent ordeals.

Hmmm…… Father R.apes daughter twice to check her virginity status

A 48-year old man, Adeboye Waheed was paraded by the Lagos state police command for defiling his 14-year-old daughter (names withheld) to check her virginity status at Adama Araro Street in Ikorodu area of the state.
The victim, an SS1 student of Araromi Isoju Grammar School in Ikorodu, who lived with her father, step mother and four siblings, revealed that she was defiled twice with a condom.
Narrating her ordeal to journalists, she said,

My father started checking my private part, to check if I have started mensuration in 2014. On a particular day in November of the same year, I was sleeping on the floor of our one room apartment in the night, he removed my wrapper. My step mother was not around that day.
“He used his fingers to touch my private part and asked if I was menstruating. He also asked me if anybody had ever had sex with me, I said no. He said he would use his penis to test me to confirm the truth. That was how he forced his ‘manhood’ on me and covered my mouth not to shout.
“From that time, I started bleeding till morning when I became weak and he did nothing. He warned me not to let anybody know.”

The victim said her father repeated the act on Thursday, March 5, 2015.She continued,

“I was browsing with someone’s phone in the house when he asked me to remove my clothes. He put on condom and had se.x with me. I felt very bad inside me but I could do nothing.
“The next day, I packed my belongings and ran away from the house to a near-by church.
“I really felt humiliated. Before I left, I threw away all the condoms he bought and dropped a note that he should not look for me. At the church, I narrated what happened to me to them and they took the matter to the police.”
According to the Trent, while being paraded before journalists the suspect blamed the act on strange influence which befell him .

Yinka Quadri Returns To School, Actor Now OOU University Diploma Student.Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri has returned to school.Mr Quadri is currently studying Theatre Arts at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Ago Iwoye Ogun state.

In a quick chat with Encomium on Sunday, the actor said the diploma course will take six months to complete.
In his words:

Right now am in OOU studying theatre Arts. And of course, a Diploma course which lasts only six months. To say the truth, the experience has been wonderful and I am very happy about it.
He also addressed an issue that came up when he first enrolled in the institution

Interviewer: There was a time we learnt the Theatre Arts department of the institution wanted to initiate some of you into theatre practice which almost caused a crisis between you and the institution. How true is that?

Yinka Quadri: There was no argument on that. What we are thinking when the head of department (HOD) called on us and said they wanted to do initiation for us was quite different from what they meant. So, we now thought of who was actually going to initiate who? Who will do that for us? Is it the students that we believe are under us or who? There was no crisis about it
